Sister Fazila is the founder of Sacred Light. She has a BA in Education and Post-Graduate diploma in Teaching from the University of South Africa. Fazila began her studies in Classical Arabic and Islam at university and furthered her studies in Arabic with the Jordanian institute Qibla. She holds an Ijazah in Qur'an recitation with Tajweed (in the riwaya of Hafs an Asim) with a connected chain of transmission. She has developed Madressa syllabi for children and was a madressa principal for many years teaching Quran and Islamic Studies.
