About Sacred Light
Our Mission
Founded in 2018, Sacred Light is a non-profit organisation working to make Islamic education accessible and support people in their pursuit of knowledge, Insha Allah.
Our work began with a focus on supporting women through learning. The Qur’anic Arabic Grammar Program also welcomes men, including Huffadh who wish to deepen their understanding of Qur’anic Arabic. We aim to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for learners to study the language of the Qur’an and improve their recitation.
Our Programs
Qur'anic Arabic Grammar Program
Our flagship program helps English-speaking adults build a foundation in Arabic grammar and apply what they learn to the Qur’an. Beginners are welcome; no prior knowledge of Arabic is required.
Our intake is planned as a three-year learning pathway through ARB101 and ARB102. Students progress from foundational grammar and word structure to more detailed grammatical analysis and application to Qur’anic passages.
- ARB101 – Level 1: A foundational grammar course with practical application to the analysis of individual Qur’anic ayah.
- ARB102 – Level 2: An intermediate grammar course with practical application to a surah from the Qur’an.
Classes are held online, with a weekly 1.5-hour live lesson, regular practice and teacher guidance. Tuition is free. Registered students receive the textbook free of charge and cover the postage costs. Other course materials, including recorded lessons and interactive presentations, are provided online.
Our program also includes continuous assessment with weekly assignments to track progress.
Tajweed Course
Our 1-year Tajweed Course helps students learn and practise the rules of Qur’anic recitation, with attention to correct pronunciation and articulation (makhārij). Lessons combine explanation with practical recitation practice and teacher guidance.
Our Teachers
Our teachers come from diverse backgrounds and share a commitment to teaching the language of the Qur’an and supporting students in their learning. They offer their time and knowledge in service to the community.
Our Values
Our work is guided by sincerity, dedication and the pursuit of beneficial knowledge for the sake of Allah. We strive to make learning accessible and to create a respectful, encouraging environment where students can grow in knowledge and strengthen their connection with the Qur’an.
We pray that Allah grants acceptance and success to this work, for all success comes from Him alone.
