Islamic Education for Women
Our Mission
Islamic education for women is our mission at Sacred Light, Insha Allah as we strive to make knowledge accessible and empower women through learning. Founded in 2018, Sacred Light is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping women connect with the Qur’an and deepen their understanding of its teachings. We offer free online Qur’anic Arabic courses, specifically designed for English-speaking adults, to equip them with the skills needed to read, understand, and reflect upon the Qur’an in its original Arabic.
While our primary focus is on empowering women, we also accept male enrollments into our Arabic program, particularly Huffadh, who wish to enhance their understanding of Qur’anic Arabic. Our work is rooted in a commitment to service and community, and we aim to offer an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.
Our Flagship Programs
Qur'anic Arabic Grammar Course
Our flagship offering at Sacred Light is the two-year Qur’anic Arabic Grammar course, designed to equip students with a solid foundation in the Arabic language, focusing on Nahw and Sarf, essential components for understanding Qur’anic Arabic.
- ARB101 – Level 1: A foundational grammar course with practical application to the analysis of individual Qur’anic ayah.
- ARB102 – Level 2: An intermediate grammar course with practical application to a surah from the Qur’an.
The course is delivered online with weekly 1.5-hour live classes. In addition to live lessons, all course content is available on our website in video and presentation formats, allowing students to learn at their own pace. Our program also includes continuous assessment with weekly assignments to track progress.
Tajweed Course
We also offer a 1-year Tajweed Course, focused on teaching the correct recitation of the Qur’an using a practical approach. This course emphasizes the application of Tajweed rules, with particular attention to correct articulation (Makhaarij). Our goal is to help students perfect their recitation, ensuring it aligns with the proper pronunciation required to recite the Qur’an beautifully and correctly.
Our Teachers
Our teachers, who come from diverse backgrounds and share a deep passion for the language of the Qur’an, are committed to this work as a service to the community. They are dedicated to helping students connect more deeply with the Noble Book of Allah.
Our Values
At Sacred Light, we believe in the transformative power of Islamic education for women. Our courses are built on the foundation of sincerity, dedication, and the pursuit of knowledge for the sake of Allah. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment where women can feel empowered, confident, and connected to their faith.
